DOAB
Directory of Open Access Books

Presentation

DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books and helps users to find trusted open access book publishers. All DOAB services are free of charge and all data is freely available.

The main objective of DOAB is to increase the discoverability of open access books. Academic publishers are encouraged to provide metadata for their open access books to DOAB. The DOAB is an open infrastructure dedicated to open science. It runs on the DSpace 6 open source platform. Metadata will be actionable to maximize dissemination, visibility and impact. Aggregators can integrate the records into their business services and libraries can integrate the directory into their online catalogs, helping scholars and students discover the books. The directory is open to all publishers who publish peer-reviewed academic books in open access and should contain as many books as possible, provided that these publications are open access and meet academic standards.
