Objectives : This training aims to provide students with basic knowledge on all areas of geomatics, by linking these areas to computer science: acquisition, modeling, analysis and visualization of localized data.
In the second year of the master's degree, students can choose one of the two specializations in geomatics:
- Information Systems Technologies (IST) for training on information systems including spatial data;
- Geographic Information: spatial analysis and remote sensing (IGAST) for a specialization in remote sensing and analysis of geographic data.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites : Access to a master's degree in geomatics is subject to obtaining a license or a diploma of at least equivalent level for:
Undergraduate students in geography, as well as training in land use planning (town planning, architecture, etc.) with skills in computer science, data analysis and / or GIS;
Students in scientific fields (mathematics, computer science, physics, etc.) motivated by the application aspects of these disciplines;
Students with professional licenses in geomatics.
Acquired skills during the training : The objective of the master 1 Geomatics is to give
fundamental knowledge in:
- computer science: data structure and algorithm,
object-oriented programming, web technologies,
image processing, agile methods;
- data acquisition methods and techniques
geographic: geodesy, topometry, photogrammetry,
remote sensing, etc. ;
- spatial analysis, multivariate statistical analysis, basis of
spatial data, geographic information systems, etc. ;
- localized data visualization tools: mapping,
webmapping, etc. ;
- English, bibliographic study.
Targeted careers : After an M2 TSI or IGAST, graduates work in various professions:
- Study / software / research engineer;
- Developer;
- GIS consultant, Project manager in geomatics,
spatial data administrator, GIS project manager;
- Researcher, teacher-researcher (after a thesis).
