Objectives : The professional license Cartography, topography and geographic information systems aims to train specialists (“geomaticians” or senior technicians in geomatics) capable of designing and managing GIS and carrying out their activity in local or territorial communities, among planners of urban space or industrial sites, in design offices or any space management or geographic data production company. The areas of application are varied: town planning documents (PLU, POS), natural risk assessment, environmental planning, infrastructure management, geomarketing, etc.
Degree Level (EU) : 6 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Acquired skills during the training : – Be able to implement the methods and tools necessary for leading and managing projects
– Communicate orally and visually in a professional situation
– Master the acquisition and processing of georeferenced data
– Master GIS tools and programming applied to GIS
– Master the creation and management of databases
Targeted careers : The vocation of the license is professional integration directly after obtaining the diploma. In certain specific cases, the possibilities for further studies may be made with a view to deepening the training, in connection with cartography and GIS.
The outlets are varied: cities, general and regional councils, urban communities, municipalities, national parks, ONF, chambers of agriculture, fire and rescue services, SNCF, GRDF, Roads departments, etc. space management.
Notes : Teaching takes place on two sites: the CLSH Nancy campus for mainly theoretical and academic framing, and the Loritz high school for mainly technical teaching.
