Course Details

Objectives : The mention of “geography, planning, environment and development” covers the spectrum of geographic sciences with a triple dimension: local and regional, Mediterranean (North and South) and European, and international (Maghreb and sub-Saharan Africa, India, Russia, USA, Latin America) .

The mention of geography combines an applied training offer (professional and research) combining:

- The most advanced methods of analysis and modeling of territories (geomatics and spatial modeling paths);
- Societal issues and regional development issues (typical globalization, environment and regional development path),
- And the expertise in the development and operational management of urban and rural spaces (typical routes for territories, society, development). These three courses are part of the local, regional and international socio-economic and territorial environment.

The Master 1, training cycle common to all students. It constitutes a common base of knowledge with a first initiation to the 3 standard Master 2 courses favored by optional courses.

The Master 2, organized in 3 standard courses:
Territories, Society, Planning (TSA);
COAStal managemenT and vulnerabilities (COAST)
Geomatics and Spatial Modeling (GMS); to which is attached a double degree of International Master (DPI) in Geomatics and Environment with the Federal University of the North-East (Russia).

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Targeted careers : The GAED Master gives access to the professions of:

Policy officer and project manager in local authorities, city policy, and decentralized state services, and design offices, international cooperation and local development projects.
Expert consultant
Responsible for territorial, social, environmental observatory (health card, urban land register, observatory of social needs), responsible for territorial and environmental mediation (general public, school public)
Analysis and development manager
Expert in the design of geographic information systems
Study engineer, research engineer, geomatics technician, geomatics trainer
Manager of territorial and environmental databases.
