Objectives : Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to:
- Describe mid-latitude meteorological phenomena at the synoptic and mesoscale (particularly deep convection), using the latest concepts from the scientific community (researchers, modelers, forecasters).
- Forecast these phenomena using a range of forecasting methods: Anasyg/Presyg, practical rules for forecasting certain mesoscale phenomena (particularly deep convection), and for using data and processing techniques for forecasting (satellite and radar data, numerical weather prediction and predictability, principles of nowcasting, probabilistic forecasting).
Public concerned : Meteorologists from national or regional meteorological services wishing to update their knowledge and skills in the field of weather forecasting.
Prerequisites : Completion of initial training as a meteorologist or equivalent is required.
Failing that, a minimum of a scientific baccalaureate degree is required.
Duration and terms : Session dates: March 16-27, 2026 in Toulouse - 57 h (9,5 days).
