Objectives : This training thus provides the technical and thematic knowledge necessary to carry out diagnostic and environmental assessment missions taken in its naturalistic and interface sense. The training is based on close working collaborations developed mainly with Irstea-Grenoble, as well as with other professional partners (national and regional parks, design offices, organizations and communities).
The training offer of the course makes it possible to tackle, in terms of disciplinary knowledge, the central themes mainly concerning environmental issues related to the study of the climate, the assessment and management of water resources and biodiversity. , in a perspective of global change, natural risks with their perception and management, associated geographic data, with various innovations in representations and digital resources (imagery and remote sensing, model releases, geodatabases, etc.).
The study sites are notably those of the mountain, but without being exclusive because several other study sites are addressed (notably at the international level: South America, West Africa, Canada, Indian Ocean).
In addition, the courses cover knowledge of environmental management procedures, with an openness to the approaches of human and social sciences of the environment, through the study of the impacts of major modifying events (context of change and risks) on geographic areas, territorial organizations and resources.
Public concerned : Students from SHS, environmental sciences, engineering and geomatics
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Acquired skills during the training : In terms of skills, methods and know-how making it possible to understand changes and adaptation methods: acquisition (tools, methods and protocols for environmental measurements, instrumentation, surveys, observations and in situ collection), processing and spatial representation of data and / or geographic knowledge (thanks to the various theoretical and technical aspects of geomatics), project management and monitoring, management and decision support (conceptual and digital modeling), writing, communication, synthesis and valuation.
Targeted careers : This training leads to the preparation of students for careers in the analysis of the territory in its environmental dimensions. It aims to train professionals capable not only of handling the classic tools of environmental diagnosis and management, but also of integrating reflection on environmental changes into a global and forward-looking vision.
The environmental diagnosis and management professions are varied ("green" and "green" professions), the GEOÏDES training allowing students to join specialized structures having these requirements.
