Course Details

Objectives : After a general introduction to GIS (Geographic Information Systems), the course is based on learning how to use the MAPINFO software.

• Introduction to the principles of GIS
• Learning of MAPINFO's cartographic visualization possibilities
• Learning of sorting and SQL query manipulations in MAPINFO
• Geographic projection systems and georeferencing in MAPINFO
• Entry and management of graphic entities and alphanumeric attributes in MAPINFO
• Implementation of MAPINFO for the production of 'risk-hazard' maps coupled with digital flood simulations.
• Conference on the processing of SPOT and LANDSAT images.

Duration and terms : 18h spread over several months: the same courses as the engineering students.

Notes : This training module is part of the common core of the engineering course, accessible in continuing education, called by ENSE3 a "school insertion".
