Master Urbanisme : Paysage, Évaluation environnementale et Projets de Territoire

Course Details

Objectives : In Master 1:

The common core combines the acquisition of knowledge specific to the fields of town planning (cultural, regulatory, financial and scientific fields) and their testing in concrete situations. It allows the student to experience the complexity of action in town planning and to develop critical thinking. An individual research dissertation, whether or not based on the professional experience of the internship, is defended at the end of the year.

Specialized courses provide know-how in terms of the representation of space and projects, including the use of GIS and CAD, of the design of the urban planning project in a situation of revitalization of rural municipalities and intercommunalities and of environmental and landscape planning strategies.

In Master 2:

The common core strengthens the knowledge and skills expected at a professional level for the operational conduct of the town planner's missions. More specifically, it develops knowledge and understanding of institutions, instruments and actors of urban planning, contemporary challenges of urban planning, methods of financing, participatory design and evaluation of projects.

The specialty courses address the operationality of the environmental assessment in urban planning projects, the compensation mechanisms for territorial strategies, the conditions of the urban planning project in a coastal context, the programming and planning of the nature city.

A university thesis based on professional internship experience and supported orally concludes the training.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Targeted careers : Liberal town planner, contractual or holder of the territorial public service (attaché or engineer, by competitive examination, after commission of equivalence for the grade of engineer), in charge of studies in town planning and environment (agricultural and land studies, forestry studies and land), project manager (sustainable city, energy and climate transition, ecological transition, territorial food project, regional biodiversity observatory), responsible for urban development and natural spaces operations, project manager (Small Towns of Tomorrow , Relaunch and Ecological Transition Contract, land use planning, land use and environmental transition), coordinator of the “payment for environmental services” system, GEMAPI manager, technical services department.
