Objectives : ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF TROPICAL ECOSYSTEMS AND FORESTS (GEEFT)
The objective of this course co-accredited with AgroParisTech is to prepare students to meet the challenges of the management of forest areas in tropical countries by giving them the means to compare forest knowledge and the ecological specificities of these environments with socio-economic issues. -economic and political aspects of the intertropical zone.
The role of the forest in sustainable development processes refers to complex issues, the subject of controversy, debate and international commitments:
biodiversity conservation,
regulation of the mechanisms that govern climate change,
control of deforestation,
forest-agriculture and agroforestry interactions,
valuation of wood and non-wood forest products,
forest management and regulation of logging, etc.
