Objectives : The Master 2 Applied Computer Science to Geographic Information Systems (IASIG) allows students to acquire skills in designing geographic databases using GIS software as well as in operating and managing GIS in various application areas.
The M2 IASIG is aimed at students with a foundation in programming and software integration with the fundamental concepts of geographic information systems.
The training takes place over one academic year, in blended or distance learning depending on the year. It combines theoretical distance learning courses, a period of distance or face-to-face exams in Douala and an internship in a research laboratory or in a company, followed by the defense of a dissertation remotely.
Public concerned : The training is open to learners from the Southern Countries and France:
- students in initial training;
- professionals working in public administration (Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of the City, decentralized communities, etc.) and in private companies (telecommunications, transport, energy, water sectors, etc.);
- people looking for a job with basic training in IT.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites : Master 1 in computer science or equivalent diploma.
Targeted careers : Learners from this training, directly operational, are able to adapt to very varied fields of study, both within local authorities and with software publishers, service providers, environmental managers, research institutes, etc.
Their skills allow them to occupy positions as project managers in private or public companies whose main tools are maps, plans, spatialized digital information, IT and new technologies.
