Objectives : The License aims to train senior technicians in planning, urban planning and the environment, through a geomatics entry, to assist different professions (urban planner, developer, geographer, surveyor, architect, landscape architect, etc.) through an expertise in geomatics applied to these businesses and support the implementation of projects using geo-referenced databases.
Challenges:
The teaching aims at the acquisition of 6 skills: 1. Understand the spatial organization and the evolution of a geographical space by using concepts, methods and tools of geography in particular geomatics. 2. Build a professional project by choosing a sector of activity in the field of planning or the environment and by planning a career development. 3. Be able to install a work environment adapted to geomatics in a structure, even if it does not have one. Carry out a software watch in geomatics. Carry out studies that combine technical and thematic knowledge. 4. Be able to solve a given problem and for that: discern, find and critically analyze the necessary geographical data, then choose and carry out the appropriate geomatics processing. 5. Know how to produce in French, in writing or orally, a rigorous presentation of the analysis and its result by mastering the geomatics vocabulary in French and English for the understanding of technical texts. 6. As a group, take responsibility for a geomatics project and complete it within the allotted time.
Specificities:
The diploma is structured in semesters with 480 hours of lectures, tutorials and projects. It includes 8 teaching units: "Analysis of geographical space" teaches the basics of geographical science. “Geomatics Initiation” teaches knowledge of geographic data and geomatics software. "Applied geomatics" includes the application of GIS to land use planning and the application of geographic image processing to the environment. "Statistics and Databases" aims to teach the basics of spatial statistics and the knowledge and know-how necessary for the management of databases "Applied and collective projects" includes a field trip associated with a project and a collective project carried out for a socio-economic partner of the Professional Licence. “Professionalization” training in English, job search and, if not training, at least a presentation of the most recent forms of geomatics.
