Objectives : The course aims to train professionals with a solid basic training that allows them to acquire a broad knowledge and understanding of Earth system phenomena and their interactions with adequate scientific knowledge to respond with flexibility and versatility to the demands of the world of job. They can find employment in public administration, in public and/or private bodies, companies, companies and professional firms. They can work as a freelancer, with the title of junior geologist (section B) after passing the state exam. Graduates in Geological Sciences can engage in professional activities in many fields of action, such as: i) geological and geothematic mapping; (ii) recovery of georesources, including groundwater; iii) analysis and certification of geomaterials; iv) geognostic, geophysical, geochemical and hydrogeological investigations; (v) analysis of environmental impacts and assessment and prevention of geological risks; (vi) assessment and prevention of the degradation of cultural and environmental properties; vii) identification, protection and enhancement of sites of geological and landscape interest.
