Objectives : The MOOC "Fundamentals for big data" makes it possible to effectively acquire the prerequisite level in computer science and statistics to follow training courses in the field of big data and data science.

Big data offers new job opportunities within companies and administrations. There are many training courses preparing for these job opportunities.

Following these courses requires basic knowledge of statistics and computer science that this MOOC offers you to acquire in the fields of analysis, algebra, probability, statistics, Python programming and databases.

Week 1: Python Part 1 / Algebra Part 1
Week 2: Limits of relational databases / Python Part 2/ Algebra Part 2
Week 3: Probabilities Part 1 / Analysis Part 1
Week 4: Probabilities Part 2 / Analysis Part 2
Week 5: Statistics
Week 6: The Perceptron Classifier

Prerequisites : Basics in mathematics and algorithms (level L2 validated) requiring a refreshment of this knowledge to follow training in data science and big data.

It can be followed in preparation for the Specialized Master's degree "Big data: Management and analysis of massive data", the Certificate of Specialized Studies "Data Scientist" and the short training course "Data Science: Introduction to Machine Learning".
