Licence Géographie et Aménagement - Parcours Géographie et aménagement

Course Details

Objectives : The Geography and Planning license aims to provide a general culture on the different aspects of geography: human and economic geography, physical and environmental geography, geopolitics, demography and regional planning. It aims to observe, analyze and understand the organization of terrestrial space at different geographic scales. The training is supplemented by teaching methodological tools (cartography, GIS, statistics), by teaching in foreign languages ??and by field trips. In addition, it opens up to other disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences: economy, sociology, history and prehistory.

A training offer differentiated into three courses. Regardless of the course chosen, the student graduated from the Geography and Planning license after completing the 3-year license.

The GA - Geography and Planning Course provides a solid general geographical training, in particular addressing major environmental and social issues and a thorough mastery of the methods and techniques of spatial analysis

Degree Level (EU) : 6 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Targeted careers : The validation of the Geography and Planning license gives privileged access to a Geography master's degree or to a Urbanism and planning master's degree.
On the national territory, the more or less specialized themes offer a very wide choice: development-town planning, geopolitics, environment, demography, cartography-GIS etc.
Reorientation is possible towards other training courses with retention of all or part of the credits acquired:

in semester 2, DEUST Multilingual nature guide and license in Sociology
in semester 4, possible orientation towards the FOCUS course (training and communication in sciences), specially designed for preparation for the MEEF master's degree (teaching professions in schools).
Occupational integration
The trades targeted are very varied. Most of the occupations mentioned require further master's studies at the University of Lille. However, some may be accessible after obtaining a Bac + 2 or 3.

Notes : Student promotions on a human scale which allow proximity between students and which promote teacher / student relations.

A privileged working environment. LILLIAD is a space for documentary research, work, exhibition and scientific meetings. The Mercator space located within the Geography and Planning UFR is an innovative space dedicated to education, collaborative work, research and analysis of spatial data.
